The argan ecosystem is degrading in arid areas due to climate change. A study in Morocco a study carried out in the context of SALAM-MED project evaluated the impact of subsurface water retention technology (SWRT) and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) on argan seedlings. Results: SWRT improved soil moisture (+640%), and its combination with AMF enhanced soil fertility, seedling growth, photosynthesis, protein, and sugar content while reducing oxidative stress. This approach could boost argan reforestation and combat erosion and desertification. See https://www.mdpi.com/2223-7747/13/15/2098
