During the COP16 UNCCD in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, a meeting was organized between several SALAM MED partners (UNISS, CNR, and IRA) and officials from FAO and the World Bank, to discuss possibilities for implementing results in various international contexts. SALAM MED has a collaboration agreement with the FAO Regional Office for Near East and North Africa (FAO-RNE, Cairo) for joint implementation of synergistic actions aimed at disseminating validated natural process-based research and technology results in project living labs. A lively discussion arose on the topics of environmental restoration approaches, which were also the subject of a subsequent side event organized by SALAM MED in collaboration with the WATDEV project (Desire Initiative EU) and Desertnet International.
